Swimming has been a favourite of many Peterborough Special O athletes for quite some time! Last season, we had 24 registered swimmers! And to help develop this group, we had our Head Coach Debbie, our Team Manager Jenn, and 8 other coaches. Many of the coaches have been involved for quite some time, and bring coaching experience from varsity teams.

Our Peterborough swim team, The Piranhas, won the Sports Club of the Year in 2016, and were recognized for their consistent efforts for meeting individual and group goals, strong peer support, and outstanding camaraderie. Congratulations, Piranhas!

The swimming season runs from late September until late April. Practices are on Thursday evenings, starting at 6 pm, and take place at Trent University in Peterborough. The Trent Athletics department provides Lifeguards at all times during our practices, to ensure the safety of all athletes.

The Piranhas usually attend at least one Swim Meet each season, travelling to various cities across Southern Ontario. Most recently, we attended an event in Pickering, and the Examiner was once again kind enough to publish an article about our team's success! Well done to all of the athletes that participated!
